Skil 90084 84-Piece Drilling and Driving Set in Plastic Case Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This little kit seems to have a great selection of commonly-used drill accessories.I haven't had a chance to test the longevity of the drill bits, but I imagine they are at least average. The screw and nut drivers seem sturdy and well made.Far better than what you'll find at the local Harbor Freight Tools!

Good buy for the price.

Makita 784874-A Ultralok 15-Piece Drilling and Driving Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is probably the best single accessory you can own to go with your cordless drill. With Makita's UltraLoc, you can snap bits in and out with speed and ease. Makita's attention to quality on this accessory is secondto none ... in fact I use the UltraLoc with a non-Makita drill. I love it!

All Trade 835113 90 Piece Drill Bit Assortment in Plastic Case Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a Father's Day gift for my husband after he broke a few drill bits during a home improvement project. He picked this one out after digging around to see what would meet his needs. So far, he's loving this set and it's been very handy...he has yet to find a project that it doesn't have a drill bit for! It really is a comprehensive, versatile kit that will meet most homeowners' needs. The bits are well-made and we expect this kit to last a long time.

Bosch CO18 18-Piece Cobalt Twist Drill Bit Assortment in Plastic Case Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I first because very impressed with cobalt bits after drilling a ton of holes in 1/4 red iron with dewalt bits and the bosch just don't last nearly as long. without a pilot hole the bits above 3/16" wear out much faster than the dewalts. It's the nicest case for drill bits i've ever had though so it gets' three stars, when one brakes or wears out, i just replace it with a dewalt...

Makita T-00153 17-Piece Impact Driver Drill Accessory Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is an incredibly handy set that I am SO glad I purchased.

As I'm sure most people do, I think I have about 10 different accessory sets in my toolbox at this point and most of them are more of the same - a bunch of #2 phillips bits, a bit holder and some assorted other driver bits. This kit has a few things that really make it stand out.#1, it includes 3 different socket sizes in it as well as an adaptor that allows you to attach any standard 1/4" drive socket to your driver. It also includes some very high quality drill bits in commonly used sizes, but the star of the show for me is the "flip bit."This is an incredibly cool little invention. On one end you have a #8 countersink bit and on the other you have a #2 phillips bit and with the included sleeve adaptor, you can switch between them within seconds which comes in EXTREMELY handy when doing finish carpentry.

I own a number of makita tools (including their outstanding LXT impact driver) and like all of those, this is top quality and I would recommend it to anyone who has an impact driver and needs a starter kit.

Milwaukee 48-89-1105 1/16-to-1/2-Inch Titanium-Coated Twist Drill Bit Assortment in Plastic Index, 20-Piece Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This set has a lot of great qualities:

-A nice little index box to keep everything in.The box even has a little latch to keep it closed.
-Flats machined into the shafts to eliminate slipping.
-Titanium nitride coating, which is nice for basic homeowner bits. But according to Wikipedia, "A titanium nitride bit cannot properly be sharpened, as the new edge will not have the coating, and will not have any of the benefits the coating provided."But, who wants to go back to black oxide when you can get these shiny golden bits for so cheap?
-The price is right.
-Your friends might think you spent a wad, since the "Milwaukee" brand name is right there on the box.

Well, there is the problem right there. To get a nice set of "Milwaukee" bits for this price is just too good to be true. The small ones break easily, and the sharpness varies significantly from bit to bit.I think I would buy them again if I could get them for a flea market price, where I could buy 5 sets and just toss them as I go through them.At first they appear to be a steal, but it turns out that they were way overpriced!

I'm going to keep the box though.Maybe as I throw the bits away one by one, I'll replace them with better ones.
