(More customer reviews)This is the drill you want if you never want to buy another drill of this size and power again. Provided you don't care that it may be a little banged up (witch it will become if you do "really use it"). This drill set and case easily retailed over $250. The hammer setting is perfect for making small holes (say 1/4" or less) in masonry for anchors or drilling small to medium size holes for what ever reason in hard materials (having a bit centered and for a high blows per minute drill helps too!). This drill can easily make 5/8 holes in 1/2 wafer board and 2/4's with a (sharp) auger bit no problem . It has plenty of torque and (with the XRP bat) battery life for anything you logically think it would handle. 3 speeds to let you fool around with how fast you want to go. It can handle brick dust and being dropped on the ground as well as hanging on a ladder from the chuck. I have seen this particular dewalt drill set (and the one without a hammer setting) used buy many in the construction field.

This is a great deal and should not be passed up for someone who needs to buy a good quality light-heavyduty drill once.

UPDATE: Well here it is - some months later and 2 more dead batteries. What a shame - a really great tool and really bad batteries. I've bought Makita for many years, but probably won't again - MAKITA ARE YOU LISTENING???

(More customer reviews)This charger is way better at topping off and keeping older Milwaukee NiCads charged then the older charger model. I highly recommend this as an upgrade to those using the older style charger that at least in my case would charge the battery then let it run down if it set on the charger unused for a week because it didn't have a proper top off trickle charge feature. This charger also seems to get a bit more juice into the Ni-cads as well, and of course it also charged the lithium ion batteries that are very powerful.

It's variable speed control is precise and drives lag bolts with ease. The rotating second handle makes it fit into tight spots easily. I found that heavy continuous use didn't faze it a bit. On top of that, it's quiet.

(More customer reviews)alright this is actually the first review i've ever written so sorry if it is confusing. But I've been a dewalt man for years and we have seven dewalt cordless drills. Recently I decided to try the new bosch litheon ion drills since they claimed to be the best made. Well this drill did not disapoint! First off this thing is made in switzerland and when you look at it you can tell by the fit and finish. In other words this is very well built and will last for many years. The next thing that I noticed is how smooth this thing is and how well the variable speed trigger works. It is very easy to control how fast your screw goes in where as my dewalts are a lot more touchy. Don't get me wrong I love dewalt and still do but you can't beat the quality and smoothness of this bosch drill. When you pull the trigger it is so quiet that it makes you think that it is not as powerful as the dewalt but in my comparison tests it puts in a screw just as fast! I also like how the light is on the bottom of the drill, that way it proves to be more useful than if it is right below the chuck cause when it is right below the chuck it seems like alot of shadows are cast. Also the handle and grip is more comfortable than my dewalts. Anyways to sum it up this drill is awesome and I would give it a nod over the dewalt, the only thing I would say dewalt would be better at right now is there 18 volt impact driver that you can also buy a chuck for which would turn it into a drill as well. There is nothing out there that will beat dewalts 18volt litheon ion impact driver but I didn't really care to spend the extra 100 dollars that would take to buy it as well as the additional chuck.

I understand that refurbished or reconditioned means that I am not getting something new.I never expected reconditioned to mean beat up though.Now the tools in this kit are actually in great shape, however one of the batteries looks like it has been used for years and it is all banged/scratched up.The bag used to carry the tools is frayed and has stains all over it.These couple of items have been through the wringer which brings the quality of this purchase way down.Typically when I buy refurbbed items they look brand new and look like they have never been used.This is not the case here.

So this came with a beat up battery and a battery that does not even work.Would not reccomend this seller.
